Students at Westwood Elementary will have the chance to participate in a fun and exciting Walk-a-Thon during school hours on Friday, October 4th. Each student will be given 20 minutes to walk as many laps as they can on the playground, all while enjoying music and spending time with friends. The goal of this event is to raise $15,000 for the Westwood Elementary PTO, which will help fund various activities and programs throughout the year.

How Can You Help?

Fundraising:

  - Encourage your student to ask for donations from family and friends.

  - Share our online donation link via email or social media: www.westwood-pto.org/walk-a-thon

 - Students will also bring home a pledge envelope and tracking sheet for collecting cash or check donations.

-Checks should be made payable to Westwood PTO. All donations must be submitted by Friday, October 4th by 11pm to count towards prizes.

Volunteering:

  - We need parents to volunteer on October 4th to help with various tasks such as cheering on students, tracking laps, handing out water, walking with their kids, and assisting with setup and teardown.

  - Volunteers must be district-approved prior to the event.

  - If you can volunteer, please email us at: board@westwood-pto.org

Where Does the Money Go?

The funds raised will support a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to:

  - Student, family, and teacher events and appreciation throughout the year (e.g., assemblies, 5th-grade celebration, family movie night, Trunk or Treat, field trips)

  - Items to support classrooms, playgrounds, and the overall school environment

What's in it for Your Student?

🏆 Top Earning Class (K-2 and 3-5 grades): A visit from the ice cream truck during school!

🏆 Top Class by Percentage of Unique Donors: Get to be the support staff for Mr. Meyer as he "works" from the school rooftop!

🏆 Best School Spirit Class (following the Monster Dash theme for this year): Apple Launch  Competition. Note: Any costumes or activities must adhere to school rules. (e.g., no masks, blood, weapons)

Your support is crucial to making this event a success. Let's work together to enrich our students' educational experience! Thank you for your generosity and participation.
